Wundermom is inspiring me even further to get my spending under control. I realized today that I am spending without thinking too much in the store. My total for today (and without getting anything of substance, really) was $88.58. It’s going to be a long week.
I’m determined *not* to go back to the store.
In the interest of full-disclosure and all that, here is my list for today:
- 3 sodas (out of the kids’ allowances) $4.23
- candy (again, kids’ allowances) $3.59
- GFCF prepackaged items (cookies, chips, pretzels) $12.85
- beer and mojitos (will last one month) $16.78
- Total for ’stupid purchases’: $37.45
The rest of the groceries:
- 2 limes $1.00
- 2 bunches bananas (14) $3.39
- 7 peaches $3.32
- 7 plums $1.58
- 2 avocados $2.00
- 1 bunch parsley $1.29
- 1 onion $1.92
- 2 jalapeno peppers $0.58
- 1 cucumber $1.99
- bulk quinoa $1.96
- bulk wasabi peas $1.62
- 3 pounds organic apples $6.99 (the regular apples weren’t much cheaper!)
- 1 loaf french bread $1.39
- 2 packages bagels $3.98
- 1 package rolls $2.99
- 1 1-gallon pitcher $5.99
- 1 bottle water $0.99
- 1 bottle laundry soap $3.49
- 1 bottle dishwasher det. $2.99
This was definitely a learning experience for me. I look forward to doing better next week!
